    The Sudbury Basin / ˈ s ʌ d b ə r i /, also known as Sudbury Structure or the Sudbury Nickel Irruptive, is a major geological structure in Ontario, Canada.     Course. The river begins at Horwood Lake in geographic Keith Township in the Unorganized North Part of Sudbury District. It flows northeast over the Ontario Power Generation Horwood Lake Dam, used to control water flow and store water for hydroelectricity generating stations downstream in the drainage basin, to Groundhog Lake, then north under the Canadian National Railway transcontinental Country: Canada. 2. Physical setting of Lake Wanapitei. Lake Wanapitei (46°45′N, 80°45′W) is 1 of more than lakes within the reaches of the City of Sudbury in Ontario, Canada ().It is the largest (12 km wide with a surface area of km 2) and deepest (> m) in the region, containing approximately 5 km 3 of water (Pearson et al., ).Wanapitei means ‘molar tooth’ in Ojibwa, referring to Cited by:
